The Opportunity

Reporting to the Chief Security Officer, the Privacy and Data Manager will lead the development and implementation of data privacy and governance strategies across the organisation. This newly created role will uplift privacy and data requirements to ensure compliance with relevant privacy laws and frameworks in Australia, New Zealand and other relevant jurisdictions, as well as data governance requirements aligned to NIST-CSF 2.0.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop a roadmap across privacy and data governance for the organisation
  • Oversee a robust data and privacy governance framework, ensuring requirements and methodologies are embedded across the company
  • Manage key elements within the remit on data lifecycle and compliance
  • Support incident response and breach management activities
  • Collaborate with technology and security teams to align privacy and data requirements to new technology and initiatives, acquisitions and business growth
  • Lead employee training and awareness programs, building a strong culture of privacy and data responsibility
What You'll Bring
  • Proven experience leading privacy and data governance for multiple regions in a commercial environment
  • Confident leader who has demonstrated ability to engage stakeholders across all levels of the enterprise
  • In-depth knowledge of Australian Privacy Legislation and global privacy frameworks
  • Recognised privacy and data certifications
  • Experience aligning data governance requirements with NIST-CSF 2.0

You will be required to meet Visy\'s employment criteria, which will include a criminal history check.
