Job Title: Operational Training Officer

Our organization is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Operational Training Officer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering tactical skills training to instructors and correctional officers.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Tactical Skills Training: Deliver high-quality tactical skills training to instructors and correctional officers, ensuring they meet the required standards.
  • Instructional Standards: Design and implement instructional standards for consistency in training across all Queensland Corrective Services facilities.
  • Assessment Activities: Develop and review assessment activities to demonstrate competency in the tactical skills curriculum.
  • Training Procedures: Review and report on training procedures and processes to ensure compliance with departmental policies.
  • Tactical Skills Evaluation: Evaluate tactical skills training and assessment tools against departmental policies.
  • Continuous Improvement: Contribute to the continuous improvement of tactical skills training through data analysis.
  • Centre-Based Support: Provide professional development and support to centre-based tactical skills instructors.
  • Liaison and Coordination: Liaise with correctional centre management to coordinate training calendars.
  • Safety Standards: Maintain safety standards during high-risk training exercises.
  • Injury Review: Assist with reviewing injuries sustained during training.
  • Ammunition Management: Manage armoury operations, including storage, transport, and issue of weapons.
