Portfolio Strategy Leader

Squadron Energy is a leading renewable energy company developing, operating and owning renewable energy assets. Our team works with local communities to lead the transition to a clean energy future.

We have 1.1 GW of renewable energy in operation and an Australian development pipeline of 20GW.

The Role

The Portfolio Strategy Leader will shape Squadron Energy's strategic direction by developing and refining our Portfolio Strategy. This role requires strategic vision, analytical expertise, and collaboration across Business Units to align Sales and Asset Portfolios.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and evaluate the Portfolio Strategy, ensuring alignment with Sales and Asset Portfolios.
  • Formulate the Energy Risk Management Policy and associated metrics, ensuring comprehensive assessment and mitigation of risks.
  • Provide quarterly market outlooks and perform forward curve analysis to identify market trends.
  • Supervise reporting and monitoring of wholesale market performance, risk metrics, customer performance, and financial analysis.
  • Collaborate with Development, Delivery, Sales, and Customer Solutions teams to integrate data-driven insights into portfolio offerings.
  • Identify opportunities for portfolio expansion, focusing on Battery Energy Storage Systems and peaking assets.
  • Develop strategies to align the energy portfolio with market demand and customer preferences.
  • Lead and mentor a team, fostering a high-performance culture.

About You:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Economics, Finance, Energy Management, or a related field.
  • Extensive experience in energy market analytics, portfolio strategy, and risk management within the energy sector.
  • Proven track record in developing and executing successful energy portfolio strategies.
  • Expertise in financial analysis, forecasting, and performance tracking.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience managing and developing high-performing teams.
