Business Partner Role

This position is responsible for delivering strategic and operational HR service across a designated client group. It requires collaboration with senior leadership to apply best practice HR knowledge, leveraging influencing and communication skills.

  • Aligning with the HR strategy, key initiatives include leadership development, talent and succession planning, change management, workforce planning, and a focus on the entire HR lifecycle.
  • The Business Partner will be highly agile in response to HR transformational change and will provide coaching and mentoring to senior leadership teams within their designated client group to enhance employee engagement and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Drive continuous improvement of the HR function through effective influencing and collaborative working relations.
  2. Provide support nationally on IR-related matters.
  3. Lead Enterprise Agreement negotiations and prepare relevant documentation.
  4. Offer support, counsel, and advice to managers regarding complex underperformance, misconduct, disciplinary action, and dismissals.
  5. Manage end-to-end workplace investigations and grievance resolution.
  6. Drive process improvements through education and team engagement.
  7. Be a Change Champion where it impacts employee engagement, culture, processes, systems, and leadership capability.

Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualification in Human Resources and AHRI Membership (desired).
  • Previous experience as a HR Business Partner, ideally within the transport and logistics industry.
  • Knowledge of National Employment Standards and experience with awards/agreements.
  • Solid experience in employee relations with demonstrated understanding of maintaining procedural fairness and natural justice.
  • Familiarity with the Fair Work Act and its interactions with Awards and Enterprise Agreements.
