We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Analyst to join our Mergers team at the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC). As a Senior Analyst, you will play a crucial role in interpreting economic trends and legal frameworks to support decision-making for the new merger review system.
Our team is responsible for undertaking investigations and competition analysis of mergers across a wide range of industries. You will carry out economic, legal or data advice and analysis, develop or implement policy positions arising from merger reform, and liaise with other Australian Government agencies and overseas competition and consumer agencies about the ACCC's mergers work.

- Conduct consultations with market participants and manage relationships with key stakeholders.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Relevant work experience working within an economic context, professionally within a legal context, contributing to economic or market analysis.
- Tertiary qualifications in economics, law, data or similar fields.
- A developed understanding, or ability to quickly acquire an understanding, of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 and other relevant legislation, as well as a sound general knowledge of the role and functions of the ACCC/AER.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively research, investigate and analyse competition issues, interpret and apply legislation, work collaboratively, prioritise a demanding workload and manage and develop junior team members.
The ACCC is an independent statutory authority that administers the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 and other Acts. We work to promote effective competition and fair trading in the market place to benefit consumers, business and the community, and efficiency in the delivery of certain infrastructure services.
