Green Space Care Specialist

We are seeking a motivated individual to join our Parks Operations team as a Green Space Care Specialist. The successful applicant will have a passion for gardening and be able to work independently with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Undertake garden duties including establishment and maintenance of gardens and lawns; planting; pruning; mowing; tree maintenance; whipper snipping; weeding; irrigation; soil and sediment control; rehabilitation works; chemical application; pest/disease control; maintenance of facilities.
  • Utilise and maintain small items of plant, equipment, tools (hand and power) and personal protective equipment and clothing in accordance with Council standards.
  • Complete documentation relevant to the role e.g. standard forms, site safety documentation etc.

Requirements:

  • Class C Driver's Licence.
  • General Construction Induction Training Card (White Card).
  • Qualification relevant to the role e.g. Certificate II Horticulture (Desirable).
  • A genuine interest in the presentation of the Botanic Gardens facilities and a strong focus on Work Health and Safety is essential to the role.
  • In accordance with Work Health and Safety legislation, the successful applicant is required to be vaccinated for Hepatitis B and will be asked to provide evidence of this.
