Associate Director: A Dynamic Leadership Role

This position is part of the Fiscal Policy Division within the Treasury, which provides expert advice, undertakes strategic reform, and delivers financial plans.

The team supports the NSW Government in making informed decisions, driving public sector performance, and maintaining strong finances. As an Associate Director, you will lead teams to provide expert advice on fiscal strategy, budget planning, and government policy matters.

Your Key Responsibilities

You will deliver insightful financial recommendations to senior leadership and key stakeholders, manage the preparation and coordination of State Budget papers and related reports, and foster collaboration within Treasury and across government agencies.

Key skills required for this role include:

  • Financial Forecasting: Experience in financial and economic forecasting is highly valued.
  • Dynamic Environments: Proven success in fast-paced and innovative settings.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Strong communication and interpersonal skills for managing multiple stakeholders.
  • Technical Communication: Ability to convey complex information clearly in various formats.
  • Project Management: Experience in project management and collaborative teamwork.
  • Public Sector Knowledge: Strong knowledge of public sector financial management, economics, or government policy, with an understanding of NSW Government's systems being desirable.
  • Qualifications: Relevant tertiary qualifications in accounting, finance, economics, public policy, or a related field.
