Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Research Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will have a strong background in chemistry and be able to assist with drug development and testing.

The Research Assistant will be responsible for the synthesis and characterization of small molecules, as well as testing these in binding assays and in vitro assays. They will also be responsible for data management, documentation and analysis, updating and maintaining databases for project samples and data.

In addition, the Research Assistant will contribute to day-to-day laboratory management and participate in group analysis work. They will work independently and as part of a team to achieve research goals.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in chemistry, chemical engineering, engineering, material science, medical science, neuroscience, or related discipline
  • Experience with medicinal and/or organic chemistry, and chemical analysis (including mass spectrometry, NMR, HPLC)
  • Experience with laboratory techniques such as molecular binding assays, western blotting, immunohistochemistry, molecular biology and cell culture
  • Experience working in a research laboratory and understanding of laboratory health and safety practices and principles
  • Excellent organisational skills and ability to meet tight deadlines
