Home Care Support Worker Job Description

Make a genuine impact in people's lives as a Home Care Support Worker.

We are seeking individuals who possess a caring nature and passion for helping others. As a Home Care Support Worker, you will have the opportunity to work with clients in their own homes, providing personalized care and support to help them maintain their independence and quality of life.

Your key responsibilities will include assisting clients with daily living activities, such as personal care, meal preparation, and light housekeeping. You will also provide respite care to family members and caregivers, enabling them to take breaks and recharge.

  • Assist clients with personal care activities, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
  • Prepare healthy meals and snacks for clients, taking into account their dietary needs and preferences.
  • Perform light housekeeping tasks, such as laundry, cleaning, and organizing.
  • Provide emotional support and companionship to clients, engaging them in activities and conversations that promote mental stimulation and social interaction.

You will be working collaboratively with our team to ensure seamless delivery of care services. To succeed in this role, you must possess excellent communication skills, empathy, and a patient demeanor. Your ability to work independently and think on your feet is essential in this fast-paced environment.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and colleagues alike.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a high level of flexibility and adaptability.
  • Australian citizenship or permanent residency, with a valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle.
  • First Aid and CPR certification, with the willingness to undergo additional training and education as required.
