Job Title: Fitter Machinist

At Employ Me, we are seeking a skilled Fitter Machinist to join our team in a workshop-based role. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for setting up and executing product manufacturing sequences, ensuring high-quality products are delivered to our customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Read, interpret, and manufacture from technical workshop drawings in accordance with the scope of work.
  • Set up and execute product manufacturing sequence operations in accordance with job traveller documentation.
  • Check fabricated and assembled metal parts for accuracy, clearance, and fit using precision measuring instruments.
  • Machine to fine tolerances using machining tools to press, cut, grind, plane, bore, and drill metal.
  • Work independently and/or within a team with or without supervision.
  • Manufacture, strip, and repair products in a proper and safe manner using the most economical methods.
  • Inspect and record manufacturing details as required.
  • Demonstrate flexibility with job tasks and liaise with relevant stakeholders.
  • Identify and document non-conformances and report to the supervisor immediately.
  • Keep workstations and surrounds in a safe and tidy manner.
  • Conduct safe and proper machine operation as per SOP training.
  • Notify the supervisor of any shortage of tools or maintenance requirements.
  • Seek approval from Workshop Management for any changes to workshop practices or drawings.
  • Conduct pre-operational inspections of machinery and equipment.
  • Participate in risk assessment and personal training.
  • Complete daily timesheets with accurate job and operation details.

Accountability:

  • Be present to start and finish work on time.
  • Be present for the entire required shift and contribute to achieving business targets.
  • Demonstrate responsible actions and a willingness to work as part of a team.
  • Maintain a high standard of personal conduct and behave in a professional manner.
  • Demonstrate assigned duties in a safe and responsible manner in accordance with Company's Health & Safety policies & procedures.
