Geoscape Australia invites an experienced Legal Counsel to join their team of industry leaders.

Job Overview

The Legal Counsel will work closely with our commercial and product teams, as well as the General Counsel and Company Secretary. The role is hands-on, offering the opportunity to shape how legal services are delivered across the business.

You'll be involved in a wide range of contracts and commercial matters, with exposure to intellectual property, privacy, and compliance issues. With a lean in-house structure, you'll have the chance to take ownership, work closely with decision-makers, and make a real impact.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Provide clear, pragmatic solutions-focused legal advice across commercial law, contract negotiation, intellectual property, privacy, and risk management.
  • Review, draft, and negotiate customer and supplier agreements.
  • Maintain and enhance our suite of legal templates, tools, and precedents.
  • Contribute to the legal risk framework and support compliance with relevant regulatory obligations.
  • Support the General Counsel in managing external legal providers and ensuring value for money.
  • Assist with the management of our IP portfolio, including trademarks and licensing agreements.
  • Collaborate across teams, encouraging early engagement with legal and building trusted relationships.
