About the Role

The ANZ Small Business Collections Associate plays a crucial role in helping customers achieve sustainable outcomes. As a key member of our Customer Financial Wellbeing Assist team, you will be responsible for recouping debt on delinquent accounts through negotiation with customers and liquidators/receivers/administrators.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Action on accounts efficiently, ensuring timely resolution of customer enquiries and delivery of results.
  • Negotiate payment arrangements with customers who are unable to meet contractual payment requirements.
  • Manage accounts in liquidation, liaising with liquidators/receivers/administrators to ensure compliance with relevant legislation and procedures.
  • Provide customers with accurate information about their accounts, answering their enquiries and transferring calls to relevant departments as needed.
  • Aim for first call resolution, keeping customers informed about the progress of their enquiry when resolution is not possible.
  • Follow Collections procedures and strategies, making sound credit decisions based on available information.
  • Use discretion appropriately, focusing on team goals and actively assisting colleagues to achieve minimising loss and delinquent accounts.
  • Maintain compliance with risk operating policies and practices.

What We're Looking For

  • Proven ability to deliver quality customer service.
  • Experience with Excel, MS Word, Outlook, Internet Explorer, and the Windows interface.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills (written and oral) to deal with a range of people.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, meeting targets and deadlines.
  • Strong numerical skills.
