Role Overview

The Department of Education, Western Australia, seeks a highly skilled and experienced project professional to join our Capability Support branch in the Service Design and Support Directorate. As a Principal Project Officer, you will play a key role in transforming system strategies and initiatives into practical programs of support, implementing, coordinating, and supporting programs and special projects, including the delivery of digital strategies and projects. You will work closely with key stakeholders to identify new priorities and initiatives, leveraging your strong business analysis skills to inform process and system improvement. This is an outstanding opportunity to make a meaningful impact and work collaboratively in a challenging, multifaceted role.

Key Responsibilities

Implement and coordinate programs and special projects, including the delivery of digital strategies and projects. Identify new priorities and initiatives in consultation with key stakeholders. Develop and implement processes to facilitate monitoring, reporting, and successful delivery. Build effective relationships and work as part of a multidisciplinary team across Statewide Services and the system. Demonstrate high-level project and program management skills, including the ability to be agile and responsive to the needs of the role and competing priorities. Collaborate with stakeholders to achieve educational outcomes and implement effective change management strategies. Provide expert advice to support the delivery of Statewide Services systems and maintain strategic oversight of digital business system requirements.

Requirements

Highly developed project and program management skills, including experience in implementing processes for monitoring, reporting, and successful delivery. Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills, with experience in undertaking high-level consultations, collaborations, and negotiations. Highly developed written communication skills, including experience in preparing correspondence, reports, and policy documents. Highly developed conceptual, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with experience in applying strategic thinking to achieve outcomes. Highly developed organizational skills, with a proven ability to deliver outcomes on schedule in a demanding environment and under tight timeframes. Experience in managing complex projects or programs, with a strong focus on business analysis and process improvement.
