Earth Observation Procurement and Commercial Specialist

The Earth Observation Procurement and Commercial Officer role is a critical position within the organization's Space Division, responsible for providing procurement and commercial advice to support the delivery of the Earth Observation Program.
This APS6 role will work closely with the Satellite Land Imaging Collection (SLIC) Branch and Digital Earth (DE) Branch to manage complex procurement and commercial activities, including contract drafting and finalisation.
The successful candidate will have strong administration skills, excellent communication skills, and experience in drafting and negotiating complex contracts.
- Main Responsibilities:
- Draft and negotiate complex contracts to ensure commercial engagement with suppliers aligns with organisational objectives.
- Coordinate, prepare and publish approaches to market through Commonwealth procurement channels.
- Maintain high levels of compliance with legislative, financial and administrative frameworks.
- Engage in risk management and conduct risk assessment and risk management activities.
- Key Requirements:
- Demonstrated experience in drafting and negotiating complex contracts.
- Experience in government procurement systems, such as AusTender.
- Knowledge of the Commonwealth Procurement Rules and related policy frameworks.
- Highly developed written and verbal communication skills.
