Fleet Operations Manager

About the Role:

The Fleet Controller will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the fleet, ensuring timely and accurate scheduling and allocation. This role requires exceptional operational skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to manage relationships effectively across various business units.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee a team of drivers to ensure daily operations of the fleet
  • Maintain excellent working relationships with stakeholders, customers, and drivers
  • Communicate effectively with drivers and customers around planning, runs, and delays
  • Conduct proactive assessments of operations to enhance efficiency
  • Manage and monitor payroll, driver's performance, leave entitlements, and truck servicing
  • Load planning & optimization via solid analytical skills
  • Recognize opportunities to improve current processes and revenue margins
  • Proactively manage sub-contractors and associated costs

Requirements:

  • Prior experience in a similar Fleet Controller or Allocator role within the Transport and Logistics industry
  • Sound knowledge and understanding of OH&S, CoR & NHVR legislation
  • SAP, MT DATA, WMS & TMS knowledge is desirable
  • Demonstrated experience working in a fast-paced and challenging environment
  • A continuous improvement mindset with good change management experience
  • Ability to build strong relationships internal and externally
