The role:

  • A creative and strategic thinker will join our future products team in Sydney.

You'll apply human-centred-design principles to develop innovative food products and experiences released to consumers globally across multiple consumer-facing brands.

This role requires comfort with ambiguity, a desire to learn rapidly and passion for food and technology driving change.

Key requirements include:

  • 1-2 years of experience in human-centred problem-solving or product innovation context
  • Foundational knowledge of design processes and methods applied to diverse projects
  • Aptitude for ethnographic research, divergent exploration and concept development
  • Ability to turn human insights into ideas and prototypes testable with rigour
  • Lateral thinking with an insatiable curiosity and ability to learn quickly in complex spaces
  • Autonomy and capacity to prioritise in fast-moving businesses
  • Passion for food, technology, humanity and design thinking at the intersection of food science and design
  • Knack for translating insights into cohesive stories effectively communicated to others

Responsibilities include:

  • Using design methodologies to discover opportunity spaces for food innovation
  • Gaining deep understanding of technological possibilities and empathy for teams working on them
  • Ideating product concepts together with cross-functional teams
  • Testing prototypes with real people to ensure irresistible products
  • Analysing qualitative and quantitative data to extract findings and guide prototyping
  • Evolving design-thinking within an organisation hungry to embody its principles

Success after 12 months includes:

  • Building empathy for customers and consumers with clear insights and needs
  • Leading development of various product concepts for the future of meat
  • Informing resource allocation for the future-products team based on market fit
  • Prototyping new-generation food products with strong market potential
  • Helping the team say 'no' to underperforming prototypes based on research and data
  • Promoting Vow as a leader in cultivated meat
