Centre Cook Role\

This is a key role in any childcare setting, requiring the ability to prepare and serve healthy meals that cater to diverse needs.

\Responsibilities\
  • \
  • Prepare meals that are safe for all children, taking into account special dietary requirements and allergies.\
  • Plan menus and order food supplies, working closely with the Centre Director to ensure consistency and quality.\
  • Maintain high standards of food safety throughout preparation, storage and handling of food and drinks.\
  • Organise kitchen activities efficiently, ensuring timely delivery of meals and maintaining a clean environment.\
  • Work effectively as part of a team, supporting colleagues to achieve common goals.\
  • Collaborate with Centre staff to develop and implement policies and procedures related to food safety and nutrition.\
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge in commercial cookery and childcare practices.\
  • Ensure accurate recording and reporting of food-related incidents and near misses.\
  • Support the Centre's commitment to providing a safe and healthy environment for children, families and staff.

\Requirements\
  • \
  • Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or relevant experience in a similar role.\
  • Current Working with Children Check.\
  • Demonstrated ability to work safely and efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment.\
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with colleagues and stakeholders.\
  • Ability to think creatively and problem-solve in response to changing circumstances.\
  • Flexibility and adaptability in meeting the needs of children, families and Centre staff.
