Job Opportunity: CHPP Operator

Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and safety-conscious CHPP Operator to join our team at our site in Blackwater. The successful candidate will be responsible for consistently high levels of safe work practices and productive operational skills of the CHPP and ancillary equipment.

The CHPP Operator will manage stockpiles and work areas through operating machinery, performing inspections, and troubleshooting within the plant. They will also have excellent knowledge of coal analysis and be able to eliminate problems and diagnose faults in order to operate the plant efficiently.

In addition to their technical skills, the CHPP Operator will provide sound leadership and coaching to less experienced members of the CHPP Team to achieve a high level of production in a safe and efficient manner.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Highly skilled in hazard identification and responsive to safety issues
  • Able to facilitate a JSA/Risk Assessment
  • Trade qualified in associated discipline (highly desirable)
  • Applicable Coal Competencies
  • Current Standard 11 Mine Induction (Surface)
  • Current Queensland Open Driver's licence
  • Solid computer literacy with Microsoft Office programs
  • Thorough understanding of individual responsibilities in relation to the Coal Mining Safety & Health Act and associated regulations
  • Previous experience in a CHPP operation
