Job Title: Program Coordinator

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Program Coordinator to join our team at the Department for Child Protection.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring effective implementation and planning of placement programs, including Next Steps, Guardianship Family Day Care, Supported Independent Living Services, and Placement and Support Packages.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement procedural guidance to support placement programs
  • Provide information to DCP staff regarding placement programs and required referral information
  • Act as the central contact and communication point with case workers regarding placement matching, referrals, and placement transitions

Requirements:

  • Strong analytical skills and excellent communication skills
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of legislative frameworks and policies that guide social work and child protection practice
  • Experience providing sound and practical advice on social work/child protection matters

About the Department for Child Protection:

The Department for Child Protection plays a key role in the protection of children, young people, and their families within South Australia. We provide support to vulnerable children and young people to be safe, strong, and connected.

Special Conditions:

  • AHP: A degree-level qualification in Social Work which gives eligibility for full membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers
  • PO: Appropriate degree qualification in Community Services, Social Sciences, Human Services, Health, or related field
