Executive Leadership Opportunity

Hunter New England Health seeks a visionary leader to join our team as the General Manager - Mental Health Services.

This executive position is responsible for the management and strategic direction of inpatient, outpatient, and community mental health services across the district.

  • The ideal candidate will be able to drive innovative service delivery models, integrate care across diverse settings, and foster strong collaboration with clinicians, community providers, and key stakeholders.

You will have the autonomy and influence to design and implement reforms that significantly enhance mental health service delivery and patient outcomes.

Culturally respectful care and improving access for rural and underserved populations are essential aspects of this role.

The Executive Leadership Team (ELT) provides guidance and support to ensure successful implementation of strategies and initiatives.

Strong communication and relationship-building skills are critical to success in this position.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement mental health services strategy and plans.
  • Oversee the operations of mental health services, ensuring compliance with legislative requirements and organisational policies.
  • Collaborate with clinicians, community providers, and key stakeholders to develop and implement high-quality, client-centered services.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to staff, promoting a culture of excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Maintain effective communication and working relationships with stakeholders, including clients, families, carers, and community members.
Selection Criteria:
  • Tertiary qualifications in health administration, business or related degree with a health-related focus, and/or relevant equivalent extensive senior management experience.
  • Eligibility to drive in NSW and willingness to travel for work purposes.
