Job Overview

This position would have two main responsibilities: the leadership of sports programs (curricular and co-curricular) as well as the second Head Teacher Welfare role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a whole-school culture of high expectations and research-based innovation to support student wellbeing, and engagement in sport.
  • Effectively lead and engage all stakeholders in the management of complex student wellbeing needs to promote success.
  • Organise and lead diverse and comprehensive Sport programs and initiatives, including regularly scheduled Sport, whole-school Sporting events and co-curricular competitions.
  • Design, plan and implement school initiatives as a proactive member of the executive team, using data for continuous improvement.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice.
  • Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs.
  • Educational leadership skills to build capacity and manage performance of individuals and teams.
  • Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills with capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents.
  • Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning.
  • Knowledge of and commitment to equity and inclusion principles.
