Scientific Leadership Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Scientific Leader to join our team in a Supervising Scientist role. This position involves leading and performing haematology/coagulation investigations, providing advanced scientific advice, and supervising laboratory staff.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a talented professional to take on a leadership role in our laboratory. As a Supervising Scientist, you will be responsible for:

  • Performing and validating complex haematology/coagulation investigations, ensuring accuracy and maintaining competence in the scientific aspects of the laboratory units.
  • Developing, implementing, and improving supervised services in coordination with the laboratory management team, stakeholders, and external partners.
  • Providing advanced level scientific advice, communication, and support to clients, laboratory staff, and peers relating to Haematology services.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A tertiary degree in Medical Laboratory Science (or equivalent) from a recognised university or tertiary institution.
  • Membership of a professional scientific association such as AIMS or ANZSBT would be an advantage.
  • Demonstrated high level of knowledge and skill in the performance of haematology and coagulation investigations in a clinical pathology laboratory.
  • Significant experience and knowledge in one or more of the following areas - training, education, quality, or troubleshooting in a haematology laboratory.
  • Advanced clinical knowledge in Haematology/Coagulation to support laboratory staff and clients.
