Consumer Protection and Fair Trading Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work with a high-performing team that values collaboration, flexibility, and inclusivity.

The Consumer and Fair Trading Division is seeking experienced professionals to contribute to protecting consumer interests and supporting fair trading in markets affecting Australian consumers and small business.

  • Develop, implement, and review plans for investigations and projects, including resource allocation and expenditure monitoring.
  • Prepare internal and external documents, including reports, minutes, briefs, and media releases.
  • Maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Provide advice on industry trends, consumer behaviour, and policy reform.

Key Requirements:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 or demonstrated ability to acquire this knowledge.
  • Experience in managing investigations and/or projects, including efficient resource allocation and delivery of outcomes.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to communicate complex technical information.
  • Leadership experience in a fast-paced, large organisation with staff development expertise.
