Senior Coal Quality and Logistics Engineer

About the Role:

We are seeking a seasoned Coal Quality and Logistics Expert to join our team at the Wilpinjong Mine – a large-scale open-cut operation located 40km northeast of Mudgee.

This is an exceptional opportunity for a motivated professional looking to advance their career in a technically diverse and operationally significant role.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Quality Assurance: Manage coal quality processes to ensure compliance with both domestic and export specifications.
  • Logistics Optimization: Implement and oversee quality control measures across mining and processing stages, develop and maintain blending forecasts to support optimal product delivery.
  • Supply Chain Coordination: Coordinate logistics to support reliable and timely coal delivery.
  • Audit and Performance Assessment: Conduct audits and performance assessments of quality and logistics systems.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with the Technical Services and Production teams on initiatives to improve coal quality, supply chain efficiency, and throughput.
The Lifestyle:

This position operates on a Monday to Friday roster with one rostered day off per month, supporting a balanced and residential lifestyle in Mudgee or nearby towns.

About You:
  • Tertiary Qualification: Tertiary qualification in Mining / Civil Engineering / Geology / Process or comparable degree.
  • Experience: Proven experience in open-cut mining operations, preferably coal.
  • Skills: Strong skills in MS Office; experience with data analytics or logistics software is a plus.
  • Initiative and Communication: Demonstrated track record of initiating and delivering Continuous Improvement projects, strong communicator with the ability to influence, coordinate and drive outcomes across multiple teams.
