Coal Sample Analyst

We are seeking a skilled professional to fill a permanent, full-time role in Paget, QLD. As a Coal Technician, you will be responsible for preparing and analyzing coal samples, ensuring accurate and high-quality results that meet international standards.

• Provide and maintain high-quality work, meeting deadlines and quality expectations.
• Perform routine shipping and exploration project sampling, preparation, and analysis duties.
• Ensure a safe working environment by maintaining awareness of potential hazards and risks.
• Assist with preventative maintenance and calibration of preparation equipment.
• Prioritize urgent samples and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Operate analytical, manual analytical, and preparation equipment safely and efficiently.
• Comply with analytical methods, procedures, and company quality systems.
• Contribute to a safe workplace by conducting risk assessments, addressing hazards, and implementing improvements.
• Maintain a high standard of general housekeeping and organization.

• Coal sampling, preparation, and testing experience is preferred but not essential.
• Good computer skills, including Excel proficiency, are beneficial, and previous experience with data management programs is highly regarded.
• Previous experience in a general mineral laboratory environment is preferred but not essential.
• Ability to work on rotating shifts, including day/night/afternoon and weekends.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment and meet tight deadlines.
