Support Worker Opportunity

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Support Worker to join our team at WISE Employment Ltd. As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with disabilities to achieve their goals and live independently.

About the Role

This is a casual opportunity to work with participants in Launceston and surrounding regions, providing support and assistance with daily living tasks, community engagement, and capacity building. You will work closely with participants to understand their individual needs and goals, and develop strategies to support them in achieving their aspirations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide support and assistance to participants with daily living tasks, such as personal care, meal preparation, and household management.
  • Engage participants in community activities and events, promoting social inclusion and connection.
  • Support participants in developing their capacity and skills, including education, employment, and life skills.
  • Work collaboratively with participants, their families, and other support services to ensure a comprehensive and coordinated approach to support.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports, and contribute to the development of individualised plans and goals.
Requirements
  • Demonstrated experience working with people with disabilities, either in a professional or personal capacity.
  • Sound understanding of disability and its impact on social relationships, independent living, and daily needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with participants and their families.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong focus on collaboration and coordination.
  • Current driver's license and reliable transportation.
