We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Support Worker to join our team at WISE Employment Ltd. As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with disabilities to achieve their goals and live independently.
Key Responsibilities- Engage with participants in community activities and support them in achieving their individualised plans and goals.
- Assist participants in building connections within the community, identifying job interests, and exploring work through supported voluntary work placements.
- Support participants in developing skills and confidence to live independently, including using public transport.
- Work collaboratively with a small team to provide high-quality support services to participants.
- Demonstrated experience working with people with disabilities, either in a professional environment or through non-professional means.
- A sound understanding of disability and its impact on social relationships, independent living, daily needs, physical health, and vocational and employment needs.
- Demonstrated experience in supporting participants with their individualised plans and goals, with a focus on capacity building.
- Excellent communication skills, including written and verbal, as well as negotiation and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to identify, organise, and utilise relevant resources effectively to support participants.
- Ability to work as a constructive and collaborative member of a small team.
- Demonstrated qualities of empathy, compassion, and integrity.
- Possession of a current driver's license and own transport.
