Description:

We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Machinery Manager to oversee the operation of production packing lines. Reporting to the Packing Facility Manager, this key role ensures effective management of daily operations, meeting customer orders on time without incident or injury.

The successful candidate will have strong organisational skills, be able to problem-solve, and possess cultural adaptability with a willingness to work with diverse stakeholders. They must also have a strong work ethic, respect for others, and pride in team performance.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Supervising the effective operation and management of packing shed production lines to meet customer specifications and deadlines.
  • Managing the packing line via proactive supervision to achieve maximum efficiency.
  • Liaising with the Product Quality Officer to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Maintaining knowledge of protocols for horticultural packaging requirements.
  • Controlling produce input and monitoring line functions with the WASH supervisor.
  • Ensuring employees are trained in machine operation, product handling, and safe work practices.
  • Coordinating workers involved in manual grading and operating associated machinery.

Requirements:

  • Diploma-level qualification in a related field.
  • At least 2 years of relevant experience or at least 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience operating machines, resolving minor mechanical problems, and working in a food packaging environment.
