Research Associate

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Research Assistant to join our team at the Clem Jones Centre for Neurobiology and Stem Cell Research. The successful candidate will provide major assistance in laboratory work, working closely with senior staff members to deliver a clinical trial of a cell transplantation therapy for treating spinal cord injuries.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with the isolation and production of human cells for transplantation at the GMP facility QGen Cell Therapeutics.
- Conduct non-GMP cell biology experiments using human and rodent cells at Griffith's Nathan campus.
- Provide administrative assistance to senior staff members and support research group activities and laboratory training.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree with Honours or an equivalent combination of qualifications and/or experience.
- Research experience in human GMP cell production, primary cell work, and general cell biology.
- Experience in cell culture and aseptic techniques.
- Previous experience in a cellular therapy laboratory or in GMP manufacturing is highly desirable.
- Strong time-management skills, communication skills, and excellent attention to detail.
What We Offer:
- A competitive salary range of $80,000 - $84,000 per annum, plus 17% superannuation.
- A total FTE package of $94,000 - $99,000 per annum.
