Safety and Support Coordinator

This part-time permanent role offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of victim-survivors of family violence. Working 22.8 hours per week, you will have the flexibility to negotiate your schedule and work arrangements.
The position delivers two key initiatives: Flexible Support Packages (FSP) and Personal Safety Initiative (PSI). FSP aims to provide personalized responses to assist victim-survivors in transitioning from crisis and establishing long-term, sustainable arrangements. PSI focuses on utilizing safety and security responses to enable victim-survivors to remain safely in or return safely to their own homes or relocate to a new home.
In addition to these initiatives, you will be responsible for processing donations received by our organization. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a multifaceted role that prioritizes the needs of victim-survivors.
Key ResponsibilitiesAs a Family Violence Safety and Support Practitioner, your key responsibilities will include:
- Delivering FSP and PSI initiatives to victim-survivors
- Processing donations received by our organization
- Collaborating with stakeholders to achieve shared goals
To succeed in this role, you will require strong interpersonal communication skills, effective conflict resolution skills, and a high level of empathy. You will also need to possess technical knowledge in practice responses to family violence, including risk assessment and management.
RequirementsOur ideal candidate will hold tertiary qualifications in Psychology, Social Work, or a related social science discipline. You will also need to demonstrate experience in providing specialist family violence services, as well as a strong understanding of assessment and intervention strategies.
