Job Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Technical Lead to join our team and lead the development of our feature control platform.

About the Role

The successful candidate will have a strong background in technical leadership, with experience in leading cross-functional teams and driving technical innovation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of our feature control platform, working closely with engineering teams to design and implement scalable solutions.
  • Collaborate with data and product leaders to ensure measurement is embedded into launches, providing actionable insights to inform decision-making.
  • Own the technical roadmap and delivery for Canva's rollout and flags infrastructure, ensuring seamless integration with existing systems.
  • Partner with engineering leaders to promote safe deployment patterns across Canva, fostering a culture of reliability and efficiency.

Requirements

  • Proven track record of leading engineering teams, with expertise in feature flagging, rollout systems, or developer platforms.
  • Deep technical expertise in modern, polyglot environments, including Java, Go, TypeScript, GraphQL, and AWS.
  • Excellent coaching and mentoring skills, with experience in guiding engineers across the stack and making architectural decisions that scale.
  • Able to communicate complex technical concepts clearly, aligning stakeholders and driving consensus.
  • Thrives in ambiguity, setting clear direction and bringing others along on the journey.

Technical Requirements
