Job Description

As a key member of our buying team, you will have the opportunity to lead the growth and continued success of our kids apparel categories.

This role involves selecting merchandise assortments by channel that satisfy our value proposition, strategy and customer expectation.

Key responsibilities include implementing and managing agreed price curves and brand maps by channel, driving performance to achieve sales, GP dollars, GMROI and stock turn targets each season, achieving margin within buying and managing purchases within agreed OTB limits, managing markdowns, promotions and achieving aged inventory standards within policy guidelines, developing, cultivating and evolving partnerships with a range of Australian and international suppliers, coaching and inspiring your team to drive engagement, succession and maximum individual potential.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Demonstrated experience working in a buying role within kids, apparel or similar categories
  • A strong understanding of Australian retail and international buying
  • Commercial acumen and confidence working with senior stakeholders
  • Highly analytical, excellent communication skills and the ability to lead discussions
  • Appreciation for social media trends across marketplace environments highly regarded
  • Exposure to managing drop shipment commercial arrangements with vendors ideal
  • Demonstrated ability working in fast paced environments and balancing competing priorities
