The role of Train Driver is a dynamic and rewarding long-term career that requires individuals who are interested in working on the railway network. To become a qualified Train Driver, you will need to complete a one-year full-time training program.

The training program includes both theoretical and practical components. You will learn how to safely operate a train and manage various work scenarios through a combination of classroom and on-the-job training. The program also includes ongoing mentoring and support from experienced team members and a dedicated Driver Trainer.

To successfully complete the program, you must participate in all training activities and undertake additional home study to prepare for ongoing assessments.

As a qualified Train Driver, you will be rostered for varying shift start and finish times within a 24-hour-a-day, seven-day-a-week timetable. This requires individuals who can adapt to different work scenarios, including working independently or as part of a team.
