Assistant in Care

At our disability support service, we're seeking a dedicated professional to provide person-centered quality care services. Your primary goal will be to support individuals with disabilities to set and achieve their goals.

As an Assistant in Care, you'll work in a group home setting, supporting clients to build their independence and relationships. Key responsibilities include:

  • Creating a safe and enjoyable environment for all individuals supported.
  • Providing personal and physical care, including grooming, toileting, meal preparation, and assistance.
  • Supporting the use of communication aids and devices, as well as other personal equipment.
  • Enabling clients to participate in individual interests, hobbies, and community activities.
  • Transporting clients across the region using Achieve Australia vehicles.

Key skills and qualifications required include:

  • Relevant certification (minimum Cert III in Disability or Individual Support).
  • Strong interpersonal, role modeling, and customer service skills.
  • Problem-solving abilities with adaptability to changing environments.
  • Understanding and commitment to National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) and Code of Conduct.
  • Awareness of human rights and challenges facing individuals with disabilities.
