Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our team in Neurology / Stroke care. This is a permanent full-time or part-time position at Liverpool Hospital.

This role involves delivering high-quality patient care, working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and contributing to the development of nursing practice.

As a Registered Nurse in this role, you will be responsible for assessing patients' needs, developing and implementing individualized care plans, providing direct care and coordinating with other healthcare professionals to achieve optimal patient outcomes.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assessing and managing patients with neurological conditions, including stroke, head injury and neurodegenerative diseases.
  • Developing and implementing individualized care plans that address the physical, emotional and social needs of patients.
  • Providing direct care, including administering medications, performing medical procedures and providing education to patients and families.
  • Collaborating with other healthcare professionals, including doctors, therapists and allied health staff, to ensure comprehensive patient care.

The successful applicant will have current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA and relevant experience in neurological care.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be considered for this role, you will need to demonstrate the following skills and qualifications:

  • Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • Relevant experience in neurological care, including assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient care.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work effectively with patients, families, carers and other healthcare professionals.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and education in nursing practice and research.
