Senior Product Technologist Meat Deli Seafood

At Coles Group, we're committed to delivering quality products to our customers while ensuring sustainability and responsibility. As a Senior Product Technologist, you'll play a critical role in driving quality and supporting product innovation in the Meat, Deli Seafood team.
About the RoleYou will be responsible for developing and implementing world-class supplier quality management programs, working with a diverse supplier base to ensure products are safe, legal, compliant, responsibly, and ethically sourced. Your tasks will include:
- Demonstrating products are safe, legal, compliant, responsibly, and ethically sourced and of repeatable quality at launch and while products remain on sale
- Utilising feedback sources to promptly action adverse product performance or compliance
- Managing the delivery of new packaging and packaging updates regarding content and design, ensuring Coles' sustainability commitments are met
- Planning and implementing traceability initiatives for a more transparent supply chain
- Working collaboratively with suppliers to manage the launch of new products, speed to market, provision of market-leading value, and launch of strategic initiatives
- Developing the strategic technical plan for categories under your remit, delivering safe, legal, compliant, responsibly, and ethically sourced, repeatable quality Own Brand products and category strategy
To succeed in this role, you'll need a Tertiary Qualification in Food Science or a related discipline, proven experience in a technical role within a fast-paced environment, and lead Food Safety / Quality auditing qualification. You'll also need to demonstrate stakeholder management, project management, and analytical, problem-solving, and time management skills. A high level of expertise and competency in processing technologies and excellent understanding of traceability programs and verification are also essential.
