Job Title: General Practice Nurse

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated professional to fill a challenging role as a General Practice Nurse in Gladstone, Queensland. Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist healthcare professionals with patient assessments, examinations, and treatments, ensuring the highest standard of care is maintained at all times.
  • Administer vaccinations and medications as prescribed by physicians, adhering to strict protocols and guidelines.
  • Perform clinical procedures, such as wound care, ear syringing, and venipuncture, maintaining accurate records and following established protocols.
  • Conduct health screenings and assessments, including chronic disease management and preventive care, identifying areas for improvement and implementing strategies for enhanced patient outcomes.
  • Provide patient education and counselling on various health topics, including medication management, lifestyle modifications, and disease prevention, empowering patients to take control of their health.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records using electronic medical records systems (Best Practice), ensuring seamless communication between healthcare professionals and facilitating informed decision-making.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to coordinate patient care and referrals, fostering a culture of collaboration and respect within the team.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and compliance with clinical guidelines and protocols, driving excellence in patient care and service delivery.

Requirements:

  • Enrolled/Registered Nurse qualification and current registration with AHPRA, demonstrating a strong foundation in nursing principles and practices.
  • Previous experience working as a General Practice Nurse or in a primary care setting preferred, showcasing adaptability and a commitment to lifelong learning.
  • Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills, enabling informed decision-making and effective problem-solving.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with patients, colleagues, and other healthcare professionals, fostering a culture of respect and empathy.
  • Proficiency in using electronic medical records systems (Best Practice preferably), streamlining clinical workflows and enhancing data-driven decision-making.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and professional development, embracing new ideas and approaches to deliver exceptional patient care and services.
