Heavy Equipment Mechanic Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team. This is a permanent full-time position, working in a workshop-based environment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and repairing heavy earth moving equipment, including Caterpillar off-highway trucks, tracked and ancillary equipment, Komatsu tracked equipment, and on-highway rigid trucks.

  • Assist with machine overhauls and component change out
  • Carry out general repairs and servicing
  • Ensure equipment is mine-site and MDG15 compliant
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A relevant trade certificate - Diesel Fitter, Heavy Vehicle Mechanic, Plant Mechanic or similar
  • A Class 'C' Drivers licence
  • Post-trade experience working in the mining and heavy earth moving industry
  • Attention to detail
  • Experience in general maintenance, diagnosis, component changed outs and servicing of heavy earth moving equipment
  • Self motivation and a strong work ethic
