Transformative Role for a First Nations Educator

We are seeking a dedicated and culturally responsive educator to join our team as a First Nations Educator. This pivotal role involves creating an inclusive learning environment, contributing to the education of First Nations students, and enhancing their learning journey.

As a member of our professional learning team, you will collaborate with colleagues, partners with the First Nations community, build strong relationships with students and their families, and contribute to the Transforming Lives Strategy 2025 by developing cultural competency.

  • Collaborate with colleagues to create a positive and inclusive classroom environment
  • Partner with the First Nations community to develop culturally responsive teaching practices
  • Build strong relationships with First Nations students and their families through open communication and empathy
  • Lead the planning and organization of NAIDOC celebrations to promote cross-cultural understanding and respect
  • Contribute to the Transforming Lives Strategy 2025 by developing and implementing culturally sensitive educational programs

To succeed in this transformative role, you must have:

  • Experience as a teacher (desirable but not essential)
  • A commitment to supporting the Catholic ethos and values
  • The ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups of people
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build trust and rapport with students, families, and colleagues
