Rail Asset Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Rail Asset Engineer to join our team at NTRO - National Transport Research Organisation. As a key member of our Asset Performance team, you will be responsible for delivering strategic asset maintenance and improvement projects related to below rail infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities- Work with our multi-disciplinary teams to provide technical advice during the development, planning, and delivery phases of rail projects.
- Collaborate with clients from track owners to operators to ensure safe and efficient asset management of rail networks.
- Develop and implement effective tendering and management strategies for projects within the rail asset management sector.
- Articulate project propositions, prepare briefs, and examine scope of work documents in a timely manner.
- Liaise with external stakeholders to ensure accurate interpretation of their requirements and timely responses.
- Tertiary qualifications in Engineering or postgraduate in Railway Engineering, Asset Management, or related areas.
- 7+ years of demonstrated experience in below rail asset infrastructure, including track and below ground works.
- Strong understanding of rail systems, track construction, track maintenance, and asset management projects.
- Experience in asset and track inspections to ensure compliance with relevant codes.
- Strong program/project management skills, including time management.
- Sound reputation within the rail industry.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and communication skills.
- Ability to work autonomously and make meaningful contributions to a diverse national team environment.
- Valid Australian driver's license.
