Academic Development Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Academic Development Specialist to support and educate elementary, middle and/or high school students through a well-structured educational program. This role will serve as the facilitator for students' academic or career goals, and assist them in developing their social and mental capacity. The goal is to enable students to become mature and well-functioning adults.

Job Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive educational plan with modern teaching methods and mentoring techniques
  • Foster equal opportunity practices and encourage student collaboration and socialization
  • Culturally sensitive approach when dealing with students from diverse backgrounds
  • Conduct group or individual counselling sessions to address students' problems or concerns
  • Evaluate students' attributes (e.g., skills, strengths) and help them identify areas of improvement
  • Regularly assess student progress and reinforce a sense of accomplishment
  • Identify potential behavioural issues or at-risk students and take appropriate action
  • Collaborate with parents, teachers, and other stakeholders to ensure student success
  • Analyse assessment results and provide constructive feedback
  • Update student records and prepare progress reviews
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Proven experience as an academic counsellor or educator;
  • High integrity and professionalism
  • Ability to work effectively with a wide range of student personalities and backgrounds
  • Knowledge of best educational practices, regulations, and models of teaching
  • Excellent communication skills and emotional intelligence
  • Basic computer skills
  • Masters degree in education or academic counselling; guidance counselling credentials required
Compensation and Benefits

$60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience. IIQAF offers a competitive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.
