Job Opportunity:

Our organization seeks an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to collaborate on design-focused work across various project life cycles.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver and review detailed electrical design deliverables for brownfield and greenfield scopes.
  • Support fast-paced project environments with multi-project responsibilities.
  • Collaborate with internal and external engineering disciplines to produce electrical design packages including:
    • SLDs, schematics, cable schedules, termination diagrams, equipment layouts, and lighting/earthing designs.
  • Conduct and review electrical calculations: load flow, fault level, arc flash, protection coordination, motor starting, etc.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant Australian standards and hazardous area classifications.
  • Prepare procurement and construction documentation: datasheets, specifications, MTOs, ITPs, construction scopes.
  • Perform inspections and witness FATs/SATs for electrical equipment.
  • Provide technical input into electrical estimates and project execution schedules.
Essential Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree (4-year) in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Power Engineering.
  • Minimum 10 years' design experience in the resources, mining, or oil & gas sectors – utility project experience is beneficial.
  • Strong background in engineering design through all project phases, especially FEED to FID.
  • Recent experience on greenfield projects is essential.
  • Exposure to shutdown planning and construction considerations for electrical design.
  • Ability to work across multiple projects with strong time and stakeholder management.
  • Proven capabilities in:
    • Electrical equipment sizing, layouts, cable routing, lighting & earthing design
    • Protection systems, relay settings, MCC/HV switchgear design
    • Control system interfacing and instrumentation integration
    • Creation and review of design drawings and technical documents
    • Site scoping, inspections, and construction/commissioning support
Highly Valued:
  • Familiarity with SmartPlant, AutoCAD, ETAP, SKM, PowerFactory, and relevant Australian electrical standards.
