This is a dynamic and engaging role that requires the ability to identify and analyze barriers to inclusion and engagement in local communities, promoting participation and reducing exclusion.
The Recreation Coordinator plays a vital part in creating inclusive and engaging programs for individuals with disabilities, evaluating new resources and programs to meet individual needs, goals, and learning objectives, supporting effective program implementation.
Main Responsibilities:
- Evaluate and identify barriers to inclusion and engagement in local communities.
- Analyze data to inform program development and implementation.
- Collaborate with allied health professionals and external agencies to prepare progress reports and letters of support for funding applications.
- Research and promote community engagement opportunities that foster inclusion, mental well-being, and social interaction.
- Source and assess opportunities for participant empowerment, independence, and personal growth through community-based activities, volunteer work, employment training, and life skills development.
Key Requirements:
- National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) Registration
- Certification in administering medications
- Epilepsy Certification
- Driver's License
