Senior Manufacturing Engineer

This is a brand new position that will take the lead for the manufacturing scale-up of novel radiopharmaceutical products. As the Senior Manufacturing Engineer, you will be responsible for utilizing your engineering skills and commercial knowledge to produce detailed manufacturing drawings and develop processes.
About the RoleThe growing Engineering team relies on three key sections - Research, Development, and Manufacturing. As the Senior Manufacturing Engineer, you will optimize build times, achieve scale-up requirements, and work with suppliers to develop bespoke parts for the novel generator device.
Key Responsibilities- Design for manufacturability and prototyping
- Detailed documentation and CAD modelling
- Perform testing of design outputs according to the verification and validation plan
- Assembly and System Testing
- Conduct DFM on sheet metal and plastic parts to evolve prototypes into manufacturable pilot designs
- Cost and time optimisation
Our ideal candidate will have a passion for medical or life science engineering with the ability to drive concepts that lead to development and commercialisation of life-saving radiopharmaceutical products. We are seeking someone who has experience applying engineering principles to address complex scientific phenomena.
- Masters or PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Industrial Design, Optimisation Engineering, or similar
- 5 years or more in an engineering role with a focus on manufacturing of electromechanical systems or similar, ideally in the medical device industry
- Sound understanding of manufacturing processes including sheet metal fabrication, injection moulding, 3D printing, etc.
- Experience in maintaining design and developmental records in compliance with quality systems
- Strong communication skills to translate needs from research into manufacturing
- Eagerness to be an effective team member of a diverse, inclusive, multi-cultural team environment
