About the Role

Knauf, a leading manufacturer of insulation materials and construction equipment, is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join their team at their plasterboard manufacturing facility in Pinkenba, QLD.

As a key member of the Engineering team, you will be responsible for supporting and maintaining the daily manufacturing processes of the facility. Your primary duties will include managing and implementing electrical projects, leading electrical and automation engineering systems, and prioritizing a safety-first culture.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and implement all electrical projects to ensure seamless facility operations
  • Lead electrical and automation engineering systems, including troubleshooting and breakdown rectification using RCA and continuous improvement methodologies
  • Prioritize and lead a safety-first culture, ensuring Knauf's values are upheld within the maintenance team, contractors, and across the site
  • Comply with site HSE regulations and the Responsibilities and Accountabilities Matrix for all trades and contractors
  • Develop and maintain a high level of housekeeping using 5S principles
  • Ensure the electrical preventative maintenance program is completed
  • Maintain the electrical critical spare parts register
  • Manage electrical risks on the site by ensuring all electrical systems and installations adhere to relevant regulations and standards
  • Set up and manage PLC and Data Systems
Requirements
  • Electrical or Control and Instrumentation Engineer's degree (desired) or qualified electricians with relevant experience
  • RPEQ Registration highly regarded
  • Broad understanding and experience of an industrial manufacturing environment
  • Expert knowledge of Automation systems (Allen Bradley PLC, Rockwell, SCADA)
  • High-level process improvement skills with analytical ability and strategic problem-solving skills (root cause analysis, process improvements & corrective actions)
  • Strong project management skills and ability to manage cross-functional teams, capital, continuous improvement teams, and strategic problem-solving
  • Experience in Asset Management techniques, systems, and processes relative to automation
  • Ability to motivate and inspire people at all levels to build a high-achieving team
  • Able to easily work with other site partners to influence outcomes
