Flute Lessons for Young MusiciansKingsway Christian College is a co-educational non-denominational day school with around 1400 students enrolled in Kindergarten to Year 12.Our music department offers an excellent facility, including a modern auditorium, and we are committed to delivering a first-class music education program that meets best practice standards.We are seeking a skilled flute tutor who can provide engaging and high-quality instrumental lessons to students both individually and in small groups. The successful applicant will be required to schedule lessons and communicate with parents and students through our teaching and learning platform.The Yr 5 Band program uses a band method book to guide the lessons in the early stages, and all students participate in weekly ensemble rehearsals as well as their group lesson on their instrument.There is potential for the successful applicant to also be involved in one of our many ensembles depending on their time availability, as a way of building more time into their schedule.Key Selection Criteria

  • Possess relevant tertiary qualifications and demonstrate a commitment to ongoing professional development
  • Have a passion and energy for developing young musicians through a broad approach to music encompassing various styles
  • Familiarity with diverse teaching and learning strategies to meet students' needs
  • High-level interpersonal skills with the ability to establish and develop positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues
  • Strong organisational skills, including punctuality
  • Empathy with, and understanding of, young people
  • Good computer literacy skills
