About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Financial Officer to join our team at Economic Development Queensland (EDQ). As a key member of our Executive Leadership Team, you will play a critical role in driving the financial management and strategic direction of our organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic financial leadership and advice to the Executive Director, Business Operations, and the EDQ Executive Leadership Team.
  • Develop and implement effective financial management systems, policies, and procedures to ensure the efficient and effective use of resources.
  • Lead a team of financial professionals to deliver high-quality financial services, including budgeting, financial reporting, and procurement.
  • Provide authoritative professional analysis and advice on financial matters, including business cases and financial modeling.
  • Ensure compliance with the Financial and Accountability Act 2009 and other relevant legislation.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in a senior financial leadership role, preferably in the public sector.
  • Strong knowledge of financial management principles, policies, and procedures.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to lead and manage high-performing teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to provide sound financial advice.
