Chief Financial Officer - Strategic Leader

The Company

We are seeking an experienced Chief Financial Officer to join our team in Brisbane Suburbs. This Australian business has established an exceptional reputation in its industry since its inception over 20 years ago. Operating in the retail franchise sector, they are now seeking a strategic leader to join them in their next phase of growth.

The Role

Collaborate closely with an experienced CEO and a cohesive executive leadership team. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading the finance function and overseeing the production of all month-end and statutory accounting.
  • Managing & improving the budgeting, forecasting, and analysis process.
  • Coordinating the annual audit.
  • Sound understanding of inventory control measures and supply chain management.
  • Developing financial models to support key decision-making.
  • Providing strategic recommendations to the CEO and the broader business.
  • Playing an active role in commercial contract review and negotiation.
  • Project managing system upgrades and automation initiatives.
  • Offering regular commercial insights to franchisees and working as a business partner.

About You:

To be considered you must be a qualified CA/CPA accountant and be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Experience in a CFO or equivalent role within a medium to large sized business.
  • Extensive skills in financial and accounting management including business planning and strategy, managing profitability, project management, formulating and monitoring budgets and financial reporting.
  • Proven leadership with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in an entrepreneurial environment.
  • High levels of commercial acumen with a proven track record of driving business performance.
  • Previous experience managing system implementations.
  • Ability to work effectively at both hands-on and strategic levels.
  • Excellent communication, engagement and presentation skills.
  • Experience within retail/multi-site or franchise industries would be ideal.
