Main Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate Fun Activities: Assist residents in exploring their interests through various activities such as art classes, gardening clubs, day trips, and movie nights.
  • Social Connector: Foster a sense of belonging among residents by facilitating social interactions and building relationships.
  • Supportive Companion: Provide emotional support and help with daily living tasks, cognitive impairment or mental health needs.
  • Resident Champion: Gather feedback from residents and their families to ensure activities meet their needs and preferences.
  • Team Player: Collaborate with the Lifestyle Coordinator and care team to plan activities, document progress, and escalate any concerns.
  • Hygiene Hero: Maintain a clean and safe environment by following infection control protocols and keeping the area tidy.
  • Catering Crewmate: Assist with meal preparation and serving, adhering to food safety standards and monitoring resident preferences.

Requirements:

  • Can-Do Spirit: Flexibility, adaptability, and a willingness to take on challenges are key qualities.

  • Previous Experience: Essential experience in caring for elders within an Aged Care or community setting.
  • Certificates: Current Certificate III in Leisure and Lifestyle or Individual Support, or willingness to complete; First Aid Certificate (or willing to get one); Australian driver's licence.
