About the Role
We are seeking experienced Shotfirers and MMU Operators to join our operations team at our new site in Blackwater, QLD. This is a Drive-in Drive-Dido (DIDO) position, with a 7/7 roster and camp facilities provided for the duration of the roster.
The successful candidates will assist and provide direction, supervision, and guidance to the Blast Crew in the process of loading, tying, and firing large shots. They will also operate the MMU to pump explosive products into pre-drilled blast holes on our customer site.
Key Responsibilities
As a Shotfirer:
- Provide operational blasting knowledge and advice to our client blast crews and associated stakeholders;
- Perform shotfiring duties, including magazine management, managing the loading, tying, and firing of blasts, following drill and blast designs;
- Work in tight unison with teammates to provide excellence in service to our valued customers;
- Assist with the training and mentoring of new team members;
- Act with integrity and respect at all times.
As an MMU Operator:
- Operate the MMU vehicle and other associated blasting plant and machinery;
- Assist with preventative maintenance;
- Deliver explosive products down pre-drilled blast holes on bench;
- Work in tight unison with teammates to provide excellence in service to our valued customers;
- Perform daily administration and customer interactions.
Requirements
As a Shotfirer:
- Experience operating as a full shotfirer;
- Knowledge of explosive and storage regulations;
- Knowledge of blasting and blasting procedures;
- QLD Shotfirers Licence;
- Current HR licence (highly desirable);
- Hold a current QLD Explosives Security Clearance;
- An impeccable safety record and commitment toward safety.
As an MMU Operator:
- An unquestionable attitude toward working safely as a priority;
- Experience operating an MMU, or similar blast delivery vehicle; or
- Current HR Licence;
- Current QLD Explosives Security Clearance;
- A positive team-orientated work ethic;
- A positive attitude to customer service.
